Technical and Historical Notes
The primary mobile suit of the second Crossbone Vanguard, the Zondo Gei
was constructed by the Buch Concern. The Zondo Gei's primary
focus was to be a small, light unit. As a result, the mobile suit was a
mere ten meters tall. Unfortunately, it also suffered a similar
decrease in efficiency and combat potential. Despite this, the Zondo
Gei was still capable of equipping beam weapons, though most pilots in
the Vanguard seemed to prefer the more traditional shot lancer. Though
it could be equipped with an anti-beam coating cloak like the Crossbone
Gundams, the Zondo Gei was overall a sub-par combat machine and only
had a limited production run. Even so, the new Crossbone Vanguard
relied on its pilots' experience to get them through battles with
enemies in superior machines, and often resorted to salvaging damaged
Jupiter Empire machines to fill their ranks.
