Technical
and Historical Notes
|
Aside from
mobile fighters, the nations of the world produced mobile suits
and mobile armors for use outside of the Gundam Fight. One such
mecha was Neo Japan's mobile armor, the JMA27T Fantoma. Equipped
with a powerful missile launcher, the Fantoma was more of a weapon
of war than the sportsmanlike mobile fighters. It is not known
how many were produced by Neo Japan, but one Fantoma unit was
used by Ulube Ishikawa in FC 59. Ulube was chasing the Ultimate
Gundam stolen by Kyoji Kasshu from the Neo Japan colony and
taken to Earth. When Ulube confronted the newly-evolved JDG-00X
Devil Gundam with a large force of JMS60
Busshi suits, they were all wiped out, and the Fantoma was
severely damaged. Ulube himself was injured in the battle, and
the metal plate he wore over his face was the result of those
injuries.
