Technical and Historical Notes

Following the Zimmad Company's first successful amphibious mobile suit, the MSM-03 Gogg, the Zeonic Company comes back with its own original design. Using many internal parts from a standard MS-06F Zaku, the company produces the MSM-04 Acguy. Even with two Zaku powerplants, the heat signatures produced by the Acguy are relatively low compared to most other amphibious mobile suits from the One Year War. This lends the Acguy a stealthiness that makes it perfect for covert operations. The Acguy's armaments include head-mounted vulcan guns and rocket launchers in the left arm. What appears to be more rocket launchers in the right arm are actually extendable claws. Topped off by a mega particle cannon, the right arm can also extend out, making it a useful punching or striking weapon. This is the standard loadout, as the forearms are interchangeable. Thus, there are some Acguys with rocket launchers in the right arm. Some have been seen to have machine guns instead of mega particle cannons, but are most likely just an in-field modification. Some Acguys deployed to Asia in UC 0080 by Zeon remnants use a variety of optional equipment, including a periscope with secondary monoeye and an arm-based scanning unit and visor for scanning an area's topography. These units also utilize weapons customized to fit onto the Acguy's arms, including a shield, heat hawk and machine gun with a flamethrower.

Zeon ace pilot Char Aznable leads a squadron of soldiers in Acguy mobile suits during a mission to destroy the mobile suit factory inside the Earth Federation's underground Jaburo base on November 30, UC 0079. Though the demolition mission is a failure, the Acguy proves its usefulness by allowing Char's troops to successfully infiltrate the base undetected. Acguy units are also deployed to Southeast Asia. In UC 0080, Zeon remnants send an Acguy squad under the command of Daryl Lorenz to Asia to pick up a spy gathering intelligence on the South Seas Alliance. However, the Acguy team draws attention to itself and is pulled into battle with the Alliance's mobile suits.
