Technical and Historical Notes

In the postwar era, the Earth Alliance refits its space cruisers to accommodate mobile suits, but it also creates new designs, such as the special operations ship Girty Lue. The Junius Treaty of C.E. 72 explicitly forbids the use of Mirage Colloid cloaking technology, but the Girty Lue is equipped with Mirage Colloid in violation of the treaty. The ship is armed with "Gottfried" beam cannons, 16 "Igelstellung" CIWS guns and more than three dozen missile launchers. The Girty Lue operates covertly and answers directly to Logos/Blue Cosmos leader Lord Djibril. On October 2, C.E. 73, the Girty Lue launches a sneak attack on ZAFT's Armory One military PLANT. In conjunction with the attack, three of the Alliance's "living CPU" pilots steal three of ZAFT's latest prototype Gundams. The Girty Lue is subsequently pursued by ZAFT's new flagship, the Minerva. The Minerva is forced to halt its pursuit when a group of extremist Coordinators begin moving the ruins of Junius Seven to drop it on Earth. However, the Girty Lue interferes and sends out its Gundams to prevent ZAFT's attempt to destroy the PLANT. Following the "Break the World" incident, the Girty Lue remains in space for many months during the second Earth Alliance/ZAFT War. The Girty Lue is destroyed by Rey Za Burrel's ZGMF-X666S Legend Gundam when Djibril attempts to escape from the Alliance's Daedalus lunar base during a ZAFT assault.
