Technical and Historical Notes

As a part of ZAFT's New Millennium series mobile suits, the ZGMF-1000 ZAKU Warrior could be outfitted with various Wizard packs to operate in different mission roles. One such configuration was the ZGMF-1000/M Blaze ZAKU Warrior. The Blaze Wizard pack featured additional thrusters for increased mobility. In addition to the standard armaments of the ZAKU Warrior, the Blaze ZAKU Warrior was also equipped with many "Firebee" guided missiles. The Blaze Wizard pack was also used by the ZGMF-1001/M Blaze ZAKU Phantom. In October C.E. 73, a Blaze ZAKU Warrior was used by former ZAFT pilot Athrun Zala during the attempt to stop the remains of the PLANT Junius Seven from falling on Earth. While the attempt was somewhat successful, Athrun's unit was heavily damaged in battle and during atmospheric reentry.
