Technical and Historical Notes

As a part of ZAFT's "New Millennium" series mobile suits, the ZGMF-1000 ZAKU Warrior can be outfitted with various Wizard packs to operate in different mission roles. One such configuration is the ZGMF-1000/M Blaze ZAKU Warrior. The Blaze Wizard pack features additional thrusters for increased mobility. In addition to the standard armaments of the ZAKU Warrior, the Blaze ZAKU Warrior is also equipped with many "Firebee" guided missiles. The Blaze Wizard pack is also used by the ZGMF-1001/M Blaze ZAKU Phantom. In October C.E. 73, a Blaze ZAKU Warrior is used by former ZAFT pilot Athrun Zala during the attempt to stop the remains of the PLANT Junius Seven from falling on Earth. While the attempt is somewhat successful, Athrun's unit is heavily damaged in battle and during atmospheric re-entry.
