Technical and Historical Notes
In C.E. 70, ZAFT rolls out the amphibious mobile suit UMF-4A GOOhN. ZAFT also creates an underground test version, the UTA/TE-6 GOOhN Underground Mobility Test Type. The GOOhN Underground Type has been modified to incorporate digging claws on the hands. Because the Underground Type is not meant for combat, its armaments have been reduced to two phonon maser cannons and the digging claws. In C.E. 71, an Underground Type unit is used by PLANT civilian Diller Rojo, who is searching the abandoned Mendel research colony for genetic information on George Glenn, the first Coordinator. After the war, ZAFT created a limited production improved version, the UTA/TE-6P Geo-GOOhN.
