After two NRS-P701 Gozzos battle Loran Cehack's SYSTEM ∀-99 ∀ Gundam, they're salvaged by the Earth Militia and upgraded into the NRS-P701R Godwin. Like the Gozzo, the Godwin is armed with a railgun mounted on the right shoulder. It lacks the Gozzo's spiked shield and forearm missile launchers, but is equipped with a heat hawk for close combat. The two units are assigned to former Gozzo pilots Bruno and Jacop. After a failed attempt to assassinate Queen Dianna Soriel, Bruno and Jacop join the Militia and stay there until the end of the war.
