Technical and Historical Notes

The RAS-96 Anksha is the successor to the NRX-044 Asshimar used by the Earth Federation Forces and the Titans during the Gryps Conflict in UC 0087. To streamline production and maintenance, the Anksha is designed to be compatible with the standards of the EFF's current mass production mobile suit, the RGM-89 Jegan. The Anksha specializes in high altitude unassisted flight in Earth's atmosphere. The Anksha features improved armaments over the original Asshimar, which only carries a large rifle. The Anksha is equipped with vulcan guns, beam sabers and two beam rifles mounted on movable shield binders. In UC 0096, several Ankshas are stationed aboard the air transport Garuda. Most are either damaged or destroyed in a battle with the Neo Zeon ship Garencieres.
