As the 7th Space War drags on, the United Nations Earth needs to field as many weapons as it can against the Space Revolutionary Army's mass produced mobile suits. One stopgap measure includes upgrading civilian worker pods into the DT-6600 Daughtap. The Daughtap's only armament consists of a single 80mm cannon mounted underneath the main body. The Daughtap's main role is to defend battleships and provide support for the mass produced DT-6800A Daughtress. Naturally, the Daughtap fairs poorly against the SRA's mobile suits, but many survive the war and are later modified by civilians to produce designs such as the Daughtap Underwater Type.
