Technical
and Historical Notes
During
the 7th Space War, the United Nations Earth introduced the Gundam
type mobile suit to combat the Space Revolutionary Army. The three
Gundam types utilized a flash system, which allowed a Newtype
pilot to remotely control many bit mobile suits. One such bit
suit was the FX-9900 GX-Bit, which was built to be used in conjunction
with the GX-9900 Gundam X. The GX-Bit's
armament consisted of the same satellite cannon and large beam
sword used by the Gundam X. The
only Newtype pilot known to ever use the bits was Jamil Neate
at the end of the 7th Space War in a failed attempt to stop the
Space Revolutionary Army's mass colony drop. A few of the GX-Bits
from the secret Project L managed to survive the end of the 7th
Space War and ended up at the bottom of the Sea of Lorelei in
the Pacific Ocean. In A.W. 0015, these surviving units were salvaged
by Olba Frost to secure them for the New United Nations Earth. However,
they were later used in combat by Jamil and destroyed because
they were no longer needed.
