Technical and Historical Notes |
Developed by Eden City's E=X, the E=X Garland is an anti-netjacker machine soldier similar to the various Garland models developed centuries earlier by Megazone 23. Like the earlier Garland designs, the E=X Garland can transform from its motorcycle "motoform" to the machine soldier "G-form." The E=X Garland is designed to work in teams of three with backup from the Net Police's E=X Flagger to track and detain suspected netjackers. The E=X Garland is armed with a pair of shoulder-mounted missile launchers, a pair of knives and a beam gun. The E=X Garland is rolled out and immediately assigned for use by new recruits like Eiji Takanaka. When the Orange gaming company starts a rebellion and fields its Hargan machine soldiers, the E=X Garland is immediately sent into battle. During the rebellion, Eiji makes contact with Eve Tokimatsuri, who declares that he is the new operator of 7G who will take over for GR-00X Prototype Garland pilot Shogo Yahagi. At the battle's end, Eiji's E=X Garland is damaged in a fight with E=X bureau director Yacob Halm's Original Garland.
