Technical and Historical Notes

Following the poor performance of the AVS-98 Economy in combat, engineers at Shinohara Heavy Industries set out to fix the labor's flaws. The end result of that effort is the improved AVS-98 Economy Type Mk. II. The Mk. II's performance is notably improved compared to its predecessor, and Shinohara again plans to mass produce the model. The Tokyo police briefly consider reorganizing Special Vehicles Section 2 by adding two extra divisions and equipping all four divisions with the cheaper Mk. II. Although the Mk. II receives favorable reviews from most of its SV2 test pilots, it is immediately outperformed by the AV-98 Ingram in mock combat. At the same time, the Tokyo police decide against reorganizing SV2 or adopting the Mk. II. Shinohara's engineers shelve the idea of creating a cheaper replacement for the Ingram and instead go in the opposite direction by creating a new high spec model: the AV-0 Peacemaker.
