Technical and Historical Notes

The SOV-9900S Seadog is a submersible construction labor manufactured by Buchiyama Heavy Industries. The Seadog can travel through water at a speed of up to 30 knots and dive to depths of 70 meters. In contrast to other submersible labors, the Seadog can connect to a ship on the surface for power and oxygen, but it's also capable of operating on its own. A Seadog is utilized in an attempt to lead a stray humpback whale out of Tokyo Bay. In the coastal town of Shikura, several fisherman conspire to increase tourism to boost the town's economy by staging appearances from a plesiosaur named "Plessie." This deception is accomplished by using two labors: an ML-98 Celkee H10 is fitted with coverings to act as Plessie's "head," while a Seadog is fitted with coverings to serve as the "fins." After the deception is discovered by the Tokyo police's SV2 labor unit, the town's tourism rush immediately dissipates.
