Technical and Historical Notes

The SPT-BB-02U Baybull is a general purpose super powered tracer developed by the Gradosian Empire. The Baybull is capable of functioning in multiple environments, including on the ground and in space. The Baybull's armaments include a standard lasered gun and knuckle shots. In October 1996, Earth/Grados half-breed Eiji Asuka steals three SPTs as part of his mission to warn Earth of an impending Gradosian invasion: Baybull, SPT-BD-03U Buldy and SPT-LZ-00X Layzner. When the Gradosian forces prove too much for Eiji to handle alone, Earth teenager David Rutherford steps in to help by piloting the Baybull. The Baybull serves as David's personal SPT for the journey back to Earth, although it is briefly seized by the U.S. military upon his return. The Baybull is heavily damaged during the invasion and recovered by the Gradosians, who fully repair it. In 1999, Le Cain uses the repaired Baybull as a trap to draw out David, who is now a guerilla fighter. David successfully recovers his former SPT, but he's forced to abandon it when he discovers it's been booby trapped with a bomb. Although the Baybull is destroyed, David upgrades to a new Earth-built SPT, the E-SPT-DL-X Doll.
