After Karen got her Gundam's head punched off in the 08th MS Team OVA, it was replaced with the head from a GM. This action figure is just the previously released RX-79(G) Gundam with a GM head and a previously unreleased parachute pack... big deal, or is it? Anyone with a GM Ground and a Ground Gundam can make this variation, but the parachute pack is new. Let's see how it does in the reviews.
The head is EXACTLY like the GM Ground action figure, but the light tan on light gray would have looked funny if it wasn't a normal part of the OVA. It is painted in the light tan colors with a green main camera and black vents beside chin. It can go 360 degrees around but it can't go up and down much. It is still proportioned with the Gundam nicely.
The torso is exactly like the Ground Gundam's but is still looking cool. It is painted in the dark blue coloring and dark gray under torso. The bottom torso is in light gray with red and yellow crest on crotch area. The vent is painted yellow and the vulcans are in light gray with a black barrel and the cockpit is red. The movement is limited to almost nothing when it moves side to side and cannot move up and down. The backpack is removable and the verniers on the backpack are removable. The ammo clips are removable and can clip onto the 100mm machine gun and the skirt armor doesn't move (one thing Bandai needs to work on). The parachute pack, when put on in place of the backpack, makes it where you can't have the GM Head Version standing up straight, or even up at all!
The arms, like everything else, are exactly like the Ground Gundam's, but painted in the light gray coloring and the hands are in there with pegs. The shield fits in the arms well and the weapons fit in snugly, but one thing bothers me a little, the beam rifle doesn't go in very well. The beam sabers also don't stay in the hands very well when being played with, but for poses they're O. K.
The legs, (need I say it again?) are painted well in the light gray colors with dark gray knobs on knees and bottom of feet are red. The vents under the knees are yellow also. They are not double-jointed, but still move very well. They also stay in well.
Beam rifle- The beam rifle is painted very well and features a removable nozzle.
100mm machine gun- This gun is nice because it features a removable clip, removable handle, and moving arm thing.
Parachute pack- This clunky thing is not very good. It fits where the backpack goes and has these straps that go on the GM Head version's shoulder pads. It weighs a lot compared to everything else.
Beam sabers- These are minimally detailed and have removable beams.
Shield- The shield is painted nicely and has an extra piece of armor on it and features a removable arm piece and can be made to be in piercing mode.
For this little toy, I think Bandai was desperate for another 08th MS Team release (I personally wanted to have a Gouf Flight Type toy). Even with the feature of a parachute pack, it isn't much different from a Ground Gundam. 08th MS Team has a lot of previously unreleased MS, so why make this piece of crap?
