The return of Neo Zeon led by Char Aznable in UC 0093 proved to
be a serious threat to the Earth. To eliminate this threat, the
Earth Federation created London Bell, an elite task force to hunt
down and destroy them. Learning from experience from past conflicts
with the Zeon idealism made it certain that London Bell was equipped
with the best and latest technology. One of the units that served
as a support unit was the RGM-89 Jegan.
From the
long line of families of the GM series, the Jegan proved to
be a maneuverable and high performance mobile suit. Usually
armed with a beam rifle and beam saber, it can also be outfitted
with an optional vulcan pod on the head, a grenade rack and
missiles mounted on its shield. Even after the Neo Zeon war,
the Jegan and its variants were still used for decades.
Box art-
The box format follows the standard design of the version 2.0
MSiAs.
Colors-
Unlike the actual colors from the lineart, this MSiA comes in
a lighter shade of puke green, which I find just fine.
The
details are good BUT the articulation is hindered since the head
is too low and comes in contact with collar.
Solid,
the torso is finely detailed and looks good. The waist can be
turned around 180 degree, which is excellent. Despite there are
no front skirt armors, it makes this MSiA very poseable as it
can do kneeling poses. The side skirt armors are weapons rack
wherein you can store the beam saber at the right and grenades
at the left. Excellent!
Connected to the back via two pegs, the backpack is done in good
faith as the design. The verniers especially the biggest one are
well articulated and painted, not to miss out that its detailed.
Going
back to the old design of shoulder armors that are places between
the torso and the arms, it still fits firmly so it is okay. The
upper arms can rotate and the elbow joints, although not in ver.2.0
format, can still be rotated like the MSiA PMX-003 The-O so it
can compensate for the "gorilla arms" design that the
kit suffered from. Hands come in three sets: closed fists, open
palm for the beam sabers and a right hand that fits into the beam
rifle. Bandai has this one well made. The hands are also in ver.2.0
format, hence they are articulated very well.
The
legs look thick and macho for this one, and the knee joints are
in ver.2.0 format, so its just perfect! The verniers are poseable
which is an added bonus to the trick!
Beam
rifle - Holds well on the right hand and well designed its beautiful.
Beam saber
- The hilt is removed from the right skirt hardpoint and is
connected with a thick saber blade - which is quite too big
I'd say. It doesn't fit firmly on both open hands unless you
insert it deeper up to the tip of the hilt.
Shield - It can be connected through hardpoints
found in both forearms, but the bonus here is that it can be
adjusted accordingly to whichever you see fit! What a marvelous
idea!
Grenades - Three pieces and fits well for both
open hands.
Head vulcan
- It seems to be permanently connected to the head, and I'd
rather not remove it to prove that. Details are fine though.
A worthy "GM-esque" MSiA has Bandai provided to us!
A winner in good colors and articulation, this Jegan received
a good design treatment from Bandai and in turn, you will enjoy
the rewards when you purchase this as well. A must for cannon
fodder lovers!
