Despite the small number of parts with this kit, it has turned
out very nice for me and I like it quite a bit.
Head
The standard fare of two halves for the head and a separate purple
bit for the chin and the eyes. The head comes with all the sticker
markings except the rear camera, which is no huge loss. I've always
liked the unusual V-Fins on the Crossbone Gundams and this delivers
a nicely
shaped one true to the design. The small difference between this
and the X1 is that the V-Fin is slightly more
elaborate. I have one complaint that the V-Fin stickers don't
go all the way around the V-Fin and only cover the front, which
spoils the view a little if you look at it from different angles.
For
those of you who paint your kits that shouldn't be a problem.
Torso
The torso has a similar two piece version of internal polycap
skeleton as the SD Zeta
Plus. The stickers go on nicely, but because the chest is
curved they tend to peel off after a while, which is irritating.
The upper front of the chest also opens up to give the illusion
that the Core Fighter is in there but, alas, there is no removable
Core Fighter on this kit, which is a great disappointment.
Arms
These arms are similar to those on the SD
Zeta, plastic on plastic joints on the shoulder. This means
the arms will probably wear out eventually, shortening the life
of the kit.
Legs
These
are pretty much the standard fare, a top and bottom piece with
pegs that attach to the torso and twist around.
Weapons
and Accessories
This
kit has a little gimmick in the form of the moveable thruster
arms on the back, which is a nice touch and makes poses look better
because you can actually give the correct position for the arms.
It also comes with a one-sided shot lancer and buster gun which
are fairly decent.
Conclusion
This kit was great fun to build and looks surprisingly decent
for the small amount of work required to build it, and I love
those little thruster arms.
