Woo! another great SD kit from Bandai.

Head

This head is just slightly larger than the 1/100 MG head and is very nicely constructed. You have an internal head part which has the vent for the front 'snout' and a moving monoeye that is moved with the use of an opening part on the top of the head like the MG head as well. This head lacks the complicated mechanism for adjusting the monoeye that the MG kit has; instead you can just move it directly when you open up the top of the head, simple and effective.

Torso

A fairly nice job done on this torso, most of it is nicely molded and there is an articulated waist so that the kit can move the torso independently of the legs, which is nice. There's also a little mechanism on the left arm that swings around and allows the arm to reach almost entirely round the front of the suit, which is essentially an angled stick on a polycap.

Arms

The arms have very nice poseability and are jointed in the middle to move very freely, with the left arm having even more freedom due to the mechanism in the torso. Both the shoulder shield and spiked armor are on ball joints using polycaps so you can pose them wherever you like and it's lovely.

Legs

The legs on this kit are, like on any SD kit, just a pair of feet, but on this particular kit is very nice as it actually makes effective use of ball joints on the feet. The kit benefits from this by being able to stand on one leg by itself, which is quite a surprise when compared to some other kits of the same age.

Weapons and Accessories

The two weapons aren't particularly remarkable on their own. The Zaku
machine gun and heat hawk are molded all in one piece, meaning they're single sided (I really think they should stop doing that; I'm willing to pay that little bit extra just so certain parts aren't one sided and I bet most fans are too) and the Zaku bazooka is two halves that fit together nicely, showing no bottom to the barrel.

Conclusion

Overall this SD kit is superb and I'd recommend it to anyone as it's simple to make, the coloring is great so it doesn't need any paint and it has a great range of motion.

Overall Rating: 4.5 out of 5 stars
