The famous Zeong, Char’s final suit in MSG that managed to take Amuro’s Gundam. All the fear and power of this Newtype suit packaged in a cute little SD form. The big plus with this kit is the conversion parts for the SD Zeong.

Head

Two halves of the head enclose the horns, polycap, and a black insert. The horns are hollow on the back, but no one’s going to be looking back there. A pink sticker monoeye comes for the black insert. The mouth cannon is molded in the head. It's got a good range of motion, although the back of the head limits how far up it can look. It ‘detaches’ which basically means it pops off the ball joint…yay...

Torso

The upper torso is two halves that thrusters connect to and a chest piece slides over. The thrusters have detailed nozzles. The skirt is one big piece that a black section and an underside plug into. It's got the vents, panel lines, and the waist mega particle cannons molded into it. The underside of the skirt is one of the most impressive parts of the kit. It's got pipes and vents molded into it that look excellent painted silver. There’s also a hole in it for plugging it into a stand (not provided).

Arms

The shoulder block encloses the green upper arm, which has little pipes molded into it. The lower arm is a two-part assembly that this plugs into. The hands are in two halves in an open pose. The shoulder armor slides over a peg on the body and the arms plug into that.

Legs

The big thrusters are ball jointed so they can move around. There’s piping molded on the sides. The small thrusters are molded in one connected piece that looks real terrible. Cutting them apart improves the look a lot.

Weapons and Accessories

Since all of the Zeong’s weapons are built in, there aren’t any accessories for it. It has an ‘attack mode’ where you tilt the head, torso, and arms up and then the thrusters down. The arms detach and wires are provided for the all-range attack. They really can’t hold up at a long range and the arms end up sagging. The optional parts for the Perfect Zeong are a couple of pieces to cover the exposed arms and parts for the legs. The legs are the only parts of the kit that aren’t molded in the right colors and need some gray paint. On the bottoms there are little thrusters, but the rest of the foot is hollow. The large thrusters pop off the ball joints and the legs plug in. The legs have the same range of motion as the thrusters.

Conclusion

This is an excellent kit, nearly all molded in the right colors, all the hollow parts out of view, and optional parts to convert to Perfect Zeong. Some simple painting of silver on the pipes and yellow on the mega particle cannons does wonders. The wires leave something to be desired but the kit looks fine with just the hands posed forward. It’s worth getting a stand for the Zeong since it doesn’t look right on the ground and a hole is already provided.
