Well, what to say about this SD kit? For one I like it as well
as being a big fan of the Guncannon, so this is a nice little
kit.
Head
This has a decent range of motion left, right and a little up
and down, which is really all you can expect for the size of an
SD head. It is molded in two halves with a visor piece that snaps
onto the front, inside which is placed a shiny reflective sticker.
The red cap bit is also attached separately, which is nice meaning
I don't have to paint it.
Torso
This is made with a polycap in the middle allowing for it to turn
at the waist, which makes for some nicer poses. The arms are attached
via pegs that stick out the side, and the legs have ball joints
(the reason of which escapes me as they really can't do anything
other than rotate left and right in the socket). The cannons are
attached via polycaps in the shoulder joints to accommodate them,
and the backpack is mould ed in one piece and just stuck on the
back via two pegs.
Arms
These arms are joined at the body and the elbow giving a very
nice range of motion. There is a bit of trouble with seam lines
on the ball shaped shoulders, but nothing some glue or putty won't
fix. The jointed elbows due to the size of the kit leave the polycap
joint totally visible if the arm is posed straight, which I guess
is the price you pay for the added poseability.
Legs
These
are basically two pairs of half pieces with a ball joint polycap
in the middle, nothing special.
Weapons
and Accessories
Although
the beam rifle is nice it is only one sided, meaning that it limits
the number of poses you can do, but it's still nice just the same.
The shoulder cannons are nicely mould ed with a ridge around the
circumference which is achieved by a separate piece that makes
up the actual barrel attaching to the end of the tube.
Conclusion
Overall I'd say this is a pretty nice kit, but then I'm biased
towards the Guncannon. I'd use this kit to define an average SD
kit, which is not a bad thing, it's just the way the kit is I
recommend you try it though.
