The AGE-1R Gundam AGE-1 Razor was developed by the AGE System as an evolution of the AGE-1S Gundam AGE-1 Spallow. The Razor wear resolved the low resistance of the Spallow’s Shiguru in two ways: by enlarging the blade to accommodate a multilayer structure, and equipping multiple blades so that Flit could keep fighting even if one of them wore out. Although the blades could combine to form a boomerang-like weapon, they didn’t return when thrown. The Razor was a typical AGE System design as it didn’t take into account the pilot’s skill. Unlike the Spallow, Razor had the same amount of thrusters and balancers as the AGE-1 Gundam AGE-1 Normal. After some reevaluation, the AGE System concluded that increasing the numbers of thrusters and/or other such devices wasn’t the best method to push the Gundam’s output performance to the physical limit. Instead, it was better to use the latest engineering data to improve the suit’s mobility. In other words, it wanted the pilot to use the inertia generated by the heavy equipment on the suit’s body to balance it.

As a result, there was a huge difference in the method of operation between the Spallow and the Razor. Whereas the Spallow achieved its sharp cutting ability from its lightweight body and added thrusters, the Razor, which handled a razor blade with huge mass, achieved such profound slashing force or striking force by using inertial force of the blade itself. Due to that, extremely advanced control skills were required of the pilot. For example, it might have been impossible for the Razor to fly straight if one didn’t have data processing abilities like that of an X-Rounder. Flit used the Razor in battle against Dole Frost’s xvm-dfc Wiegel.
