When Asemu Asuno went missing in AG 151 and was presumed dead, his father Flit carried on the fight against the Vagans by designing a new Gundam and training his grandson Kio with mobile suit simulator video games. The end result of Flit’s work was the AGE-3 Gundam AGE-3 Normal, a mobile suit that advanced the modular design of its two predecessors. The AGE-3 Normal’s wear system was designed around a transformable Core Fighter that contained the head and cockpit. The Core Fighter could swap out wear parts by docking with a secondary craft that transformed into the suit’s main body. The AGE-3 Normal was more advanced than contemporary Earth Federation Forces suits and could fly through Earth’s atmosphere unaided by a sub-flight system. Its main weapon, the powerful SigMaxiss rifle, was a scaled down version of the battleship Diva‘s photon blaster cannon. An optional Blustia cannon could be attached to the rifle and functioned as a miniature photon ring ray, but due to its hasty development in the AGE System it proved unfeasible for repeated use. The AGE-3 Normal was also armed with a pair of beam sabers that could be used directly from their forearm mounts or handheld. When the Vagans invaded the Earth city Olivernotes in AG 164, Flit entrusted Kio with the AGE device and helped him in his first battle. Once Kio became accustomed to piloting, Flit modified the G-Cepter to function on autopilot. As Kio engaged in more battles, the AGE System used his combat data to design new wear parts.
