As the battleship Diva crossed a desert in AG 164, it encountered unmanned Vagan attack drones as well as several ovw-dc Wrozzos piloted by an elite team known as the Phantom 3. Because the Wrozzos could “swim” through sand as though it were water, they proved to be challenging opponents for Kio Asuno’s AGE-3 Gundam AGE-3 Normal. In response, the AGE System developed the Fortress wear parts and for use in deserts and swamps. As with the AGE-3 Normal, Kio could switch wear parts by docking his Core Fighter with the Fortress’ G-Hopper. Armed with four SigMaxiss cannons, the AGE-3 Fortress’ power was double that of the earlier AGE-2DB Gundam AGE-2 Double Bullet. The four cannons could link their firepower together for a powerful sustained attack. The AGE-3 Fortress sacrificed its flight ability due to the extra weight, but a set of thrusters in its legs allowed it to hover over the ground.
