As the war with the Moonrace began in CC 2345 on Earth’s North Ameria continent, Inglessa ruler Guin Sard Rhineford directed miner Sid Munzer to search the mountain cycle for mobile suits. His search yielded the AMX-109 Kapool, which became the first mobile suit used in large numbers by the Inglessa Militia. The Kapool’s armaments included a laser beam, missile launcher, sonic blast and optional hand cannons mounted on its arms. Though its ammunition was no match for advanced Moonrace mobile suits like the JMA0530(Model U) Wodom, it was extremely effective against smaller mobile suits like the MRC-U11D Wad. Later, as the spaceship Willghem traveled across the ocean in its journey to reach space, pilot Sochie Heim accidentally discovered that the Kapool was transformable and actually designed for underwater combat.
