Summary

On the top floor of the Neo Shinjuku station owned by the Senpuhji Company, Sally helps Maiko with construction work on the roof. Outside the building Maito arrives with Izumi to look around. Sally continues on her work and hears that Maito is coming, but accidentally drops a wrench off the building. Inside the building Maito continues with his tour and visits the control room where they are able to track the trains from all over the world. In his secret factory Wolfgang gives Ace No Joe a robot capable of defeating Might Gaine. The cockpit is a sport elecar, which he gets into and drives into the plane and takes off. High in the sky Joe transforms the plane into a robot and continues its test flight. However, Joe decides to rename the Sonic into Hiryu. After their conversation in his lair, Wolfgang talks to himself how Joe is just bait with the prototype and he will defeat Might Gaine in his own hands with Mega Sonic 8823. Back at the Neo Shinjuku station, Maito continues his tour and thanks the people for working on the top floor. Maito then tells Maiko to come to the opening ceremony as all workers are invited. Sally returns from retrieving the wrench on the elevator and sees Maito coming, so she hides. However she hides on the edge of the building and faints after looking down and falls off the side. However, at that time Joe and his Hiryu arrive and manage to save Sally. On the way down Maito sees the Hiryu and it being an electric jet shocks him as he believed Might Wing was the only one; Izumi says she will examine where it came from. In the Hiryu, Sally thanks Joe for saving her. Joe saves he wasn't saving Sally but just testing out the abilities of his plane; he then lets Sally off in a field. Sally asks for Joe's name and he tells her his name is Ace No Joe then leaves.

Later on, the opening ceremony for the Neo Shinjuku station takes place with Maito cutting the ribbon and giving a speech thanking the workers. During his speech Maito notices Sally in the crowd and looks at her, but suddenly the Hiryu arrives and transforms into a robot as the crowd flees. Joe calls out Might Gaine to finish their battle from the other day and Maito realizes the pilot is Ace No Joe. In the building Maiko wants to leave as Sally is outside, but Aoki refuses to let her and Maito hears of this. Outside Sally says Joe is not a bad person and asks why he is doing this. Joe ignores Sally but without Might Gaine appearing, he takes Sally hostage. Might Gaine then arrives on the scene, so Joe frees Sally and tells her to run away. Hiryu and Might Gaine start fighting as Sally begs them not to fight. Might Gaine attacks Hiryu with Mighty Vulcan to no effect and gets knocked down. Might Gaine pulls out its Dou-Rin-Ken and Hiryu its staff and attack each other. Maito tells Joe to stop this battle as it's meaningless, however, Joe counters and says he is a hunter and he will hunt down his prey until he wins. Joe thinks he gains an advantage, however, Might Gaine uses Mighty Slicer to destroy Hiryu's staff. Might Gaine then prepares to use Ichimonji-Giri, however, Hiryu is prepared and leaps up, but suddenly Might Gaine is struck by missiles and falls to the ground. Wolfgang appears in the Mega Sonic 8823 and thanks Joe for his hard work and prepares to get revenge on Might Gaine. He then tells Joe of his plan that Joe was bait and Hiryu was a prototype for Mega Sonic 8823. He also says with his Cyber System he doesn't need Joe's skill for revenge. Mega Sonic 8823 charges in and fires missiles at Might Gaine, knocking it down again. Mega Sonic 8823 then prepares its beam rifle, but suddenly Hiryu punches Mega Sonic 8823 in the face. Joe tells Wolfgang he smeared his pride as Might Gaine finishes off Mega Sonic 8823 with Ichimonji-Giri, with Wolfgang fleeing saying he'll get revenge on Joe now. Hiryu picks up the beam rifle and says next time he will win as they were interrupted this time and flees.

Commentary

If the ending animation didn't make it clear this episode sure did. Ace No Joe severs his ties from Wolfgang to go solo to defeat Might Gaine with his new transformable robot Hiryu. Hiryu is a nice, powerful robot, though with some weird concepts. I honestly can't see why they would have a sports car as part of this all this creates is the weirdness of a robot controlled by a steering wheel, which some may remember from Tomino's Xabungle. A new feature of this world is also seen in that electric jets and planes do not exist with only Hiryu and Might Wing. Sally also continues her working quest with construction work, which causes her to screw up and fall off a building. Joe says he saved Sally to test out the abilities of his Hiryu. I think Sally is on the right track believing that Joe is a nice person...but just not in battles.
