Summary

A movie is played at a theater with only a man watching it...suddenly Catherine's soldiers arrive and chase him out of the theater and manage to shoot him in the shoulder. Maito and Hamada are returning from a movie and suddenly run into the man on the street. The man tells Maito that Catherine attacked him and is after Mary Fallow's precious...however he is unable to complete his sentence as Audrey shoots him. The man then gives Maito Mary Fallow's book. At his house Aoki says that the man was Joseph Green, who was the manager of actress Mary Fallow. Aoki talks about how Mary Fallow was a great actress, and for people his age that was very beautiful. Maito asks Aoki why Catherine would want it, but Aoki says it would only be worth it to her fans and that's not what she'd be after. Suddenly Hamada finds a part in the diary that talks about the world's most beautiful brightness, better then any jewel, which she named the Ring of Saros. At her castle Catherine talks to Audrey about the diary, which Maito now has. Audrey says she copied the contents of the diary but Catherine knows Maito is smart and already knows they are after the Ring of Saros. In his house Maito finds it strange that the Ring of Saros was only mentioned three times: Nouvelle Tokyo in 2035, India in 2041 and Brazil in 2047. Aoki suddenly tells Maito of bee robots stealing jewelry at New Delhi in India and Rio de Janeiro in Brazil. In Nouvelle Tokyo, Shouichiro and the police are attacking the bee robot named Mylene 1 trying to steal jewelry, however, they prove to be helpless and the jewelry is stolen. At New Delhi is Mylene 2 and Rio de Janeiro has Mylene 3 with the same things happening. Maito in the Might Wing and Gaine arrive on the scene where the bee robot piloted by Audrey is. Gaine attacks with Gaine Shot, however, the bee robot attacks with sonic waves, forcing Maito and Gaine to retreat. At New Delhi the Divers are forced to retreat because of the sonic waves as well, as is the case in Rio de Janeiro. Audrey in Mylene 1 plants a bug on the Might Wing and all the Mylenes retreat. Maito and Gaine notice something is wrong and wonder why they stopped attacking. In the library a frustrated Hamada is unable to find anything about the Ring of Saros. In order to find out clues about the Ring of Saros Maito and Aoki go see one of Mary Fallow's movies called The True Value. Maito buys the tickets from Sally who just happens to be the one selling the tickets; Sally says she loves the movie. In the theater Maito says this was Mary Fallow's last movie, which Aoki says she wrote, directed and starred in before her death a year later. Back in the library Hamada figures it out thanks to ancient Greek.

At the end of the movie there is a line about nature and true beauty. Maito asks Aoki for the yeah and month she was in Nouvelle Tokyo, which was September 2035, which allows Maito to figure it out. Outside the tether Hamada runs into Maito and says he figured it out but Maito says he figured it out himself as well. Maito in the Might Wing and Gaine head to Africa where the Ring of Saros will appear next. Audrey, who was spying on the conversation with her bug arrives with Mylene 1, 2 and 3. Catherine says to hand over the Ring of Saros. Maito says he knew they would appear and he knew all about their bug and says the Ring of Saros will appear and for Maito to remember its beauty. All of a sudden a solar eclipse happens. Catherine demands Maito to hand over the Ring of Saros. Maito says the eclipse is because Saros means 3600 in ancient Greek, which represents the cycle of a solar eclipse and that when Mary Fallow saw it in Nouvelle Tokyo City she followed it around the world. Maito then asks Catherine if it moved her but Catherine says for her beauty is something she has to touch, even if she has to steal it. She then attacks and Gaine and Might Wing transform and attack, but are caught in the sonic waves. Maito then summons Locomoriser, which attacks and they then combine into Might Gaine. Might Gaine then attacks with Might Vulcan, then Might Slicer, which doesn't do much damage. Audrey then decides to combine the three Mylenes into Milenian to show her real power. Might Gaine attacks with Signal Beam, but the more powerful sonic wave stops the beam and hit Might Gaine. Suddenly the eclipse ends and the brightness from the sun shines off Might Gaine, blinding Catherine and her soldiers, which allows Might Gaine to pull out the Dou-Rin-Ken and finish off Milenian with Ichimonji-Giri. Catherine says she will remember this as she flees in an escape pod. Back in the theater, Maito wishes he could meet Mary Fallow, but Aoki says she will live on forever through her movies.

Commentary

This has proved to be the most predictable episode of Might Gaine thus far. The first thing that you should be able to learn from the clues in the diary right away is that the Ring of Saros was some sort of natural occurrence. And by the movie you should be able to figure out what it is... sooner if you know the occurrence of solar eclipses. Though this episode has some of the best timing around. By great luck Catherine is after the diary on the exact month and year of a solar eclipse. Not only that by Maito watches a movie on which seems like the exact same day as the eclipse to figure it out. That timing is far too good.
