Summary

During the night, a group of ninjas steal swords from a museum. The next day Maito wonders about the sword robberies and is called to the monitor room where a video is played of Shogun Mifune saying that he will destroy the Japanese government, take control and establish a correct, traditional Japanese country. To start, he will cut all the railroad tracks in Japan beginning today at noon at a mysterious location. Aoki tells Maito that it was sent to the Nouvelle Tokyo Police this morning. Izumi says Shogun Mifune is part of a terrorist organization trying to destroy the government. Maito wonders how Shogun Mifune will cut off all the railroads. In his temple, Shogun Mifune orders Kojiro, the best swordsman in Japan, to do whatever he needs to. Shouichiro and the police search the train tracks for a bomb as he is sure they'll attack the Neokaido line first. Meanwhile, Tetsuya sees off Sally who is going on the Neokaido line for a school trip. On the train, Sally talks to one of her friends and says she doesn't have a boyfriend but thinks about Maito while wondering who he is. Maito searches the sky in Might Wing and Gaine hopes he doesn't have to scramble. In his swordsman robot, Kojiro slices the train tracks and comments that the sword Shogun Mifune gave him is the greatest sword, which was made from all the good swords stolen. Sally's train the Great Hikari GXO reaches the broken tracks and screeches to a halt, but the first car of the train tips over and hangs. On the police radio it's heard that 15 miles away from the Neo New Yokohama Station a robot appeared and cut the tracks. Aoki tells Maito a large swordsman robot has appeared and Maito wonders if it has to do with the sword robberies. He then orders Gaine to scramble and Locomoriser to launch. As Maito arrives on the scene the first car of the Great Hikari GXO breaks off and falls, but is saved by some grappling wire from the Might Wing. Sally sees that Maito has saved her again, and Maito wonders if Sally is calling to him. Koijiro tries to attack Maito but is stopped by Gaine, who transforms. Gaine attacks with Gaine Shot, but they are stopped by the sword.

Maito places the train down and goes to help Gaine. Locomoriser arrives and they combine into Might Gaine. Might Gaine brings out the Dou-Rin-Ken and faces off against Koijiro's swordsman robot. Maito and Gaine both notice their enemy is a very strong one. Shogun Mifune watches and notices that Might Gaine is no match for them. Koijiro thinks back to his training of trying to cut the flying swallow, then realizes the only way is to feel it and not watch it and succeeds. Maito tells Gaine that he can't find any weak points in the robot and he never imagined such a robot to exist. Maito decides he'd better end this battle now and attacks. The swordsman robot manages to parry all of Might Gaine's attacks, so Might Gaine attacks with Ichimonji-Giri. Koijiro uses his Swallow-giri attack at the right time and knocks out the Dou-Rin-Ken and stabs Might Gaine, who falls to the ground. Koijiro says Might Gaine is no match for him and walks off, and Maito is shocked over the loss. At his house Maito watches over the video of his loss, and Hamada tells Maito that the factory manager in Osaka is doing his best to fix Might Gaine. Izumi, Aoki and Hamada try to talk to Maito, but he wants to be left alone. The swordsman robot continues to destroy many more train tracks in Japan. Shogun Mifune is happy of his near victory and notices only one railroad is left- one that connects Kanmon Channel and East Asia, Neokan Island. Maito notices that the swordsman robot is not seeing Might Gaine's movements; Aoki and Hamada come in and tells Maito that Shogun Mifune is planning to destroy the track at Neokan Island. Maito has an idea and gets Hamada and the Osaka factory manager to help. At Neokan Island, the police robots have been destroyed, and as the swordsman robot is preparing his final move, Might Gaine returns with the Dou-Rin-Ken in hand. The swordsman robot and Might Gaine start fighting when Might Gaine uses Ichimonji-Giri. The swordsman robot uses the Swallow-giri, but at the moment Might Gaine launches out a swallow which is instead destroyed as Might Gaine destroys the swordsman robot. Maito tells Koijiro that he relies too much on his own skill and lost to himself. Shogun Mifune gets angry at Might Gaine and says he'll never forget this. Shouichiro arrests Koijiro, while Maito thinks how strong his enemy was.

Commentary

Another episode, another villain. This time it's Shogun Mifune, a crazy guy who wants to bring Japan back to its old ways by accomplishing silly tasks; this time it's destroying all the railroads. Of course the standard thing happens; his robot is defeated so he says he'll never forget this. Other than that Might Gaine was defeated! Defeated in episode 3 by the third robot he went against. Maito did manage to show off his intelligence and get the win in round 2. He should just be happy Koijiro let him live instead of killing him.
