Summary

The Build Divers watch Kyoya’s announcement about having Sarah in custody. Momo wonders why Sarah is just standing there and thinks they should go rescue her. Yukki notes that they need to find a way to both save Sarah and GBN, and Ayame says that any attempt to rescue Sarah will fail and result in them being banned from GBN. Koichi calls everyone and tells them that he may have found a way to save Sarah. Koichi brings together the rest of his Force and Ms. Tori to discuss his plan to transfer Sarah to the real world. The plan involves transferring Sarah’s data to a GPD machine and then deleting the buggy remnants in GBN that are causing problems. Yukki asks how they can output personality data, and Koichi explains that they need to use a Build Decal to interfere with GBN’s system and transfer all that data. The data can then be implanted in an artificial body. Ayame asks about the Build Decal, and Koichi admits that it’s based on a Break Decal. Koichi recalls Tsukasa saying it might be fun to see the current situation play out, but not if GBN dies on its own. Yukki is shocked to hear that Koichi knew Tsukasa and wonders if he can be trusted. Koichi and Ms. Tori assure everyone that the Build Decal contains no illegal code that would harm GBN. Koichi says that it’s just a tool, which can be used for good or evil depending on the person. Everyone gets excited until Ms. Tori tells them that this plan is entirely theoretical and only has a five percent chance of working. She notes that there is so much data in Sarah’s makeup that it could break up and return to GBN, creating even worse bugs. She doesn’t have much time to work on this because the administration will have its patch ready in a few days. Riku sends Kyoya, Rommel and the Game Master a message explaining that they’ve found a way to save Sarah. The Game Master tells Kyoya and Rommel that the solution is out of the question since it only has a five percent chance of success. Rommel tells Kyoya that he’s being sentimental and that this plan won’t work. Riku leaves the Force Nest and takes off in the 00 Sky. Sarah looks through a photo album of her time with the Build Divers. Kyoya enters the room and asks Sarah if she’ll finally tell him what she wants. She tells him to erase her because it’ll protect everyone’s happiness. Kyoya leaves and wonders how anyone could say that Sarah isn’t human. Riku appears at the Avalon Force Nest and asks to see Kyoya, but the guards refuse until Emilia permits it.

Riku asks Kyoya about Sarah, and Kyoya tells him that they won’t risk GBN on a plan with such a low possibility of success. Riku thinks they’ll be successful, but Kyoya dismisses that as wishful thinking. Riku asks why Kyoya is meeting with him, and Kyoya explains that the Coalition has labeled Riku as a risk. He then notes that Sarah is in the Coalition’s custody, not the administration’s. Kyoya tells Riku that if he wants to take a one-in-a-million chance, he has to show that he has the power to accomplish that. Emilia leads Riku out, and he shouts to Sarah that they’ve found a way to save her and will be coming back. Riku finds Yukki, Momo and Ayame waiting for him outside, and he tells them they can save Sarah. Later, the Build Divers meet at their Force Nest and are joined by Le Chat Noir, Magee and Tigerwolf. Magee pledges the help of his Force, Adam’s Apple, but notes that many other Forces are pledged to the Coalition. Tigerwolf explains that he doesn’t like how the Coalition is doing things, so because of his sense of justice, he left Toraburyu. He was going to ask Shahryar to help but couldn’t reach him. Koichi outlines their plan and notes that Sarah is being held in Avalon’s Force Nest. They’ve heard that the patch will be ready tomorrow, but it won’t be applied until the Raid Battle in three days. Riku works on upgrades for the 00 Sky while Koichi continues to work with Tsukasa. Ms. Tori and Koichi run another simulation on their program, which now has a 12 percent chance of success. Kyoya meets with Sarah and tells her the time has come for the patch to be executed. Kyoya announces this to all of GBN, but he’s interrupted by a broadcast from Riku, who asks him to return Sarah. The Game Master reminds Riku that Sarah will destroy GBN, and Riku says that he has a plan to save both. Rommel says they can’t risk GBN on such a risky plan, but Riku wants to take the risk anyway, which angers other players. Rommel tells Riku his chance of success is the same as a Force of non-ranked players taking on one with top players. Riku asks what will happen if they can prove that they’ll make the impossible possible, and the Game Master says he’ll support that plan. Riku declares that he wants to settle the issue in Gunpla Battle, and Kyoya accepts an uneven flag battle on Avalon’s Metronia server. The victory condition for the Build Divers is to retrieve Sarah as the flag, and for the other side it is to defeat the Build Divers. Over the Game Master’s objections, Kyoya states that they’ll accept Riku’s plan if he wins. The Gunpla Battle is initiated, and Kyoya tells everyone to get to their positions. Rommel vows to Kyoya that he’ll give it his all and gives orders to guard all entrances to the Force Nest. Elsewhere, Lord Lotus agrees to help the Build Divers because he wants to see them make the impossible possible again. The Build Divers’ shuttle takes off and heads for Avalon’s Force Nest. The ground forces open fire on the shuttle, but Riku vows to break past them.

Commentary

The lines are drawn for the final battle, which pits the Build Divers and its allies against the overwhelming numbers of the Coalition. Kyoya gave this idea to Riku, and him playing the part of the leader standing up to Riku (even while supporting him secretly) definitely feels like a nod to Gundam Wing and Zechs Merquise. Aside from the overwhelming odds, Riku has angered a large number of GBN players by wanting to risk everything on his questionable plan, and that anger is understandable. It’s surprising that Tsukasa agreed to work with Koichi to save GBN when he had dedicated so much time and effort to trying to destroy it. It almost makes you wonder if he’s going to betray them, but Koichi insists that he’s trustworthy.
