Star Driver: Takuto of the Radiance
Produced by Bones (RahXephon, Eureka Seven), Star Driver: Takuto of the Radiance takes place on the island of Southern Cross. A boy named Takuto Tsunashi washes up on the island and enrolls in the local academy befriending various fellow students. Many members of the academy belong to the secret group Glittering Crux Brigade and are seeking to activate giant mechas called Cybodies. Only Takuto, known as the Galactic Pretty Boy and his Cybody Tauburn can stop them. The series was directed by Takuya Igarashi (Soul Eater, Captain Earth), with design work from Shigeto Koyama (Diebuster, Gurren-Lagann) and Yoshiyuki Ito (Soul Eater, Space Dandy). Produced by Aniplex, Star Driver was licensed for release in North America by Bandai Entertainment, but that version is out of print following the company's closure. In 2013, a movie version of Star Driver was released, featuring material from the television series and new ending footage. The movie has not been released in North America.
