Tekkadan’s ASW-G-08 Gundam Barbatos (6th Form) sustained heavy damage in battle on Earth, and as a result the mobile suit was sent to Teiwaz’s command ship Saisei for repairs. Teiwaz’s engineers substantially overhauled and upgraded the suit into the Gundam Barbatos Lupus, adding the Latin word for “wolf” to its name. The Barbatos Lupus used new parts in its arm and legs joints produced by Teiwaz that improved mobility. Using Mikazuki’s combat data, the Barbatos Lupus was adjusted to increase its reaction speed and mobility. The suit’s frame and Alaya-Vijnana system were adjusted to ensure that they could match Mikazuki’s senses. As a result of exceeding Alaya-Vijnana safety limits during the battle with the EB-AX2 Graze Ein, Mikazuki permanently lost the use of his right eye and arm. However, when connected to the Alaya-Vijnana system, those body parts functioned normally, which allowed Mikazuki to pilot the Barbatos Lupus without impediment. To accommodate Mikazuki, the cables that connected to his implants were extended to allow him to exit the cockpit while still connected.
The Barbatos Lupus’ new armaments included an option to mount either 200mm guns or rocket launchers on the forearms, plus a long sword, large railgun, twin mace, sword-mace and variable mace. When the Calamity War-era unmanned mobile armor Hashmal was accidentally reactivated on Mars, the Barbatos Lupus served as the last line of defense to stop the killer machine from reaching the city of Chryse. During the fierce battle, Mikazuki once again exceeded the Alaya-Vijnana system’s safety limits, which resulted in him losing the use of the entire right side of his body. The Hashmal was defeated, and the heavily damaged Barbatos Lupus was upgraded for the last time into the Barbatos Lupus Rex.
