The AV-0 Peacemaker was an advanced law enforcement patrol labor manufactured by Shinohara Heavy Industries as the successor to the AV-98 Ingram. Like the Ingram before it, the Peacemaker was designed with police elements to create a psychological impact on civilians and criminals. The Peacemaker was an improvement on the Ingram in several respects. It was capable of more delicate human-like movements, thanks to the use a neuron network computer system that resembles a human nerve system. Due to the high costs of collateral damage incurred by Division 2 of the Tokyo police’s SV2 labor unit, the Peacemaker was designed to avoid damaging buildings and the surrounding cityscape. Like the Ingram, the Peacemaker was armed with a revolver cannon and stun stick, but it featured a larger shield than the one utilized by the Ingram. The Peacemaker was officially adopted by SV2 Division 1 to replace its aging MPL-97S Python, which lagged far behind the Ingram. The Peacemaker immediately proved itself as a capable law enforcement labor, but it faced its greatest challenge in late 1999 when Schaft’s experimental Type-J9 Griffon returned to cause more havoc in Tokyo. The fight with the Griffon exposed a fatal flaw in the Peacemaker’s neuron network: the hesitation in avoiding buildings could be manipulated to place the Peacemaker at a disadvantage. The Griffon used this flaw to take down both of Division 1’s Peacemaker units single-handedly.
