The NYPD’s version of the AV-98 Ingram resembled the one used by the Tokyo police, but it existed only within the mind of SV2 mechanic Shigeo “Shige” Shiba. When Shige fell down a flight of stairs and broke his leg, he had dreams of an exaggerated New York City where cabbies toted machine guns and police walked the streets with bazookas. In this fantasy, NYPD used custom Ingrams as part of its elite CLAT, the Crime Labor Attack Team. The CLAT Ingrams included a multitude of features not found in the real version, including a flight pack, energy field and new drive system. The CLAT Ingrams were piloted by Andante and Fortissimo, who were lookalikes for SV2 pilots Noa Izumi and Isao Ota.
