The BEL-1999 Caldia served an important function: labor guard dog. Developed by Schaft Enterprises Europe, the Caldia was an unmanned guard labor. Designed mainly to defend against humans, the Caldia was equipped with several stun guns, but it could also prove menacing to labors in numbers. The Caldia featured wheels in its legs and could maneuver at high speeds along floors and walls. When the Tokyo police’s SV2 labor unit deployed to the Ark factory to thwart a plan to cause the city’s labors to go berserk, they were confronted by at least 100 Caldias that had been sortied to defend the factory.
