The BEL-1999 Caldia served an important function: labor guard dog. Developed by Schaft Enterprises Europe, the Caldia was an unmanned guard labor. Designed mainly to defend against humans, the Caldia was equipped with several stun guns, but it could also prove menacing to labors in numbers. The Caldia featured wheels in its legs and could maneuver at high speeds along floors and walls. The Caldia was used in a variety of security situations, including nighttime protection of banks. However, at one bank the Caldia proved ineffective when a bank robber uses a full-sized labor against it.
