After the Vagan war, Bisidian pirate leader Asemu Asuno decided that he and his restless underlings would get into the space resource exploration business. Having received amnesty from the Earth Federation, Asemu had the flagship Baronoke and its mobile suits modified for this purpose. Using his connections within the Madorna Workshop and various colonial governments, Asemu managed to negotiate with the Earth Federation and other related parties Bisidian’s entry into the space resource development industry. One of the results was the development of space resource exploration use mobile suit, the BMS-008 Rogue Bat. This suit was created by Madorna Workshop and was basically a modified version of the BMS-003 Shaldoll Rogue. Asemu subsequently transferred the resources he discovered to his crew members, allowing the business to expand to other parts of the solar system. This then led to the term “Bisidian Connection” being a popular word in the space resource development industry for quite some time. In fact, some of the present large resource development companies had their roots with the Bisidian pirates.
The Rogue Bat’s head was equipped with powerful sensors that could detect UV to IR light emitted from the surface of asteroids and other space rocks for a long duration. The wings on its back served to increase its AMBAC capability and contained broad-range active radio sensors that were specialized for space resource exploration purposes. The multipurpose beam emitter system on its right arm was for self defense and through fine adjustment of its output could be used for various purposes, such as obtaining resource samples, drilling, seismic measurements through the firing of a strong beam and other activities that were required for geological studies. To facilitate independent long distance missions, two propellant tanks could be attached to the wings and the cockpit was also enlarged for increased comfort. Besides the Bisidian pirates, the suits were also supplied to other companies in the industry and it won over many pilots, even earning the nickname “nurse maid.”
