The CB-X5(SGT) Assault Type Gunperry was an improved version of the Earth Federation Forces’ CB-X5 Gunperry air transport craft. To enhance the Gunperry’s role as a mobile suit support craft, the forward and rear sections of the cargo unit were extended. The engines were improved for longer flight time, and the aircraft’s durability was enhanced to operate in all weather conditions. The Assault Type also featured an information observation and analysis system, which allowed it to collect data and transmit to mobile suits on the ground. The Assault Type also featured Minovsky particle scattering equipment. It was typically sent out on night time missions, flying high speeds at low altitudes to deploy mobile suits like the RGM-79V GM Night Seeker. The Assault Type remained in use as late as UC 0090.
