The Clop class cruiser was developed by the Earth Federation Forces as the successor to the aging Salamis class, which predated the creation of mobile suits. The Clop‘s overall design was a scaled down version of the Ra Cailum class. The Clop featured a central mobile suit hangar and launch catapult that could accommodate between five to six mobile suits. Its armaments included a pair of 2-barrel main and secondary guns, plus multiple machine guns and missile launchers. The Clop class was in service by the start of the Second Neo Zeon War in UC 0093 and remained in active use as late as the Zanscare War of UC 0153. Despite the Clop‘s long service history, it never fully replaced the modified Salamis, which also remained in active use as late as UC 0153.
