A product of Gihren Zabi’s quest for the ultimate war-winning super weapon, the Dolos class was the largest dedicated mobile suit carrier ever built. With the capacity to carry an unprecedented 182 mobile suits, the Dolos could transport almost an entire corps within its vast hull. However, like many of Gihren’s super weapons, the Dolos had flaws, the most principle of which was the lack of adequate launching facilities for its massive mobile suit complement. With only seven catapults, deploying the entire mobile suit complement could take more than 20 minutes. At least three of these massive ships were built starting in December UC 0078, and two were destroyed by the Earth Federation Forces during the final battle of the One Year War at the asteroid base A Baoa Qu. A third, submerged under the Earth’s oceans, acted as a base for Zeon remnants in UC 0080.
