A high-performance commander unit, the EMS-VSX1 Quavarze was specifically developed to oppose the Crossbone Gundams. Based off of independent study, the Jupiter Empire determined that producing a single unit capable of fighting the “X Gundam” was impossible, and thus came the decision to split the main focus between three separate units. The Quavarze’s focus was close combat, an area in which it had no equal. Its special weapon was the snake hand, a machine whip which mounted a powerful beam saw and was intended specifically to counter the Crossbone Gundams’ advantage at close combat. The whips allowed the Quavarze to strike without exposing itself to counterattacks, while the beam saw could easily cut through the ABC mantle by dealing constant damage, as opposed to a high speed beam rifle shot. The beam saws could also eject beam cutters as a short-range, boomerang-like weapon. The Quavarze could also change into a high speed mobile armor form, in which it used its head-mounted mega particle cannon, allowing it to completely shift its fighting style. Thanks to its melee skills and high mobility, the Quavarze was the primary attacker and the effective leader of the Death Gale Team.
