New Mobile Report Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz is an OVA series released in Japan in 1997. It is the sequel to the 1995-1996 TV series New Mobile Report Gundam Wing. Yasunao Aoki took over as director, with the rest of the main staff returning from the TV series, including mechanical designers Hajime Katoki and Kunio Okawara, character designer Shukou Murase and composer Ko Otani. The series was notable for featuring redesigns of the Gundams by Katoki that retroactively replaced the versions seen in the TV series. Set in AC 197, the world is on the brink of total pacifism until a new military force arises and threatens the peace. Heero Yuy and the other Gundam pilots are forced to return to the battlefield to fight for peace once and for all. In 1998, a compilation movie was released with new scenes and rearranged music. The series was broadcast in North America on Cartoon Network’s Toonami block in 2001. Both the OVA and movie versions were previously released on home video by Bandai Entertainment, but have since been re-released by Right Stuf’s Nozomi Entertainment.
