The Fan Liner was a civilian fan jet plane that accommodated one pilot and passenger. It was equipped with a hydro-turbine engine that outputs between 500-600 horsepower. In October 2009, Lynn Minmay received a fully assembled Fan Liner as prize for winning the Miss Macross contest hosted on the Macross. When the Macross returned to Earth the following month, Minmay was allowed to leave to briefly visit her parents in Yokohama, Japan. Hikaru Ichijyo piloted the Fan Liner and was forced to squeeze in her cousin Lynn Kaifun on the return trip. In November 2011, Hikaru flew the Fan Liner to Highlander City to meet Minmay for a date.
