The FF-3F Saberfish was a space fighter used by the Earth Federation Forces during the One Year War. Although designed for space combat, the Saberfish’s equipment could be swapped out to allow high-altitude atmospheric flight. The Saberfish’s rocket boosters allowed it to maneuver effectively and serve as both an air-to-air fighter and as an anti-air spaceship defender. The Saberfish’s armaments included nose-mounted machine guns and detachable container type missile launchers. The EFF also fielded a similar model, the FF-S3. Many Saberfish fighters were deployed by the EFF during the Battle of Loum, but they fared poorly against the Principality of Zeon’s revolutionary new mobile suits.
