The FF-S3 Saberfish was designed by the Hervic Company to be a high speed space fighter similar to the FF-X7 Core Fighter. However, the Saberfish was also capable of functioning in Earth’s atmosphere. The Saberfish was designed to be docked and launched from the hulls of Salamis and Magellan class battleships. The Saberfish’s armament consisted of four machine guns, as well as six missile launchers, which gave it firepower similar to a mobile suit. The Saberfish remained in service as late as UC 0096 and saw combat during the Gryps War of UC 0087 when the AEUG attacked the Titans supply base in Jaburo, South America. However, this antiquated fighter’s abilities didn’t come close to matching that of the AEUG’s modern mobile suits. Saberfish fighters were also stationed at Australia’s Torrington Base in UC 0096, but were destroyed from above by an MS-05L Zaku I Sniper Type before ever being able to launch.
