The FF-XIIFb Core Fighter IIFb was the space version of the FF-XII Core Fighter II created by Anaheim Electronics as part of the Earth Federation Forces’ secret Gundam Development Project. Rookie pilot Kou Uraki caused serious damage to the ground configured RX-78GP01 Gundam GP01 Zephyranthes, which necessitated that Anaheim upgrade the suit and the Core Fighter II. The new Core Fighter IIFb featured larger swiveling booster pods that also functioned as main thrusters for the RX-78GP01Fb Gundam GP01Fb Zephyranthes Full Burnern. The booster pods housed supplementary propellant tanks. The Core Fighter IIFb and GP01Fb were later destroyed alongside the RX-78GP02A Gundam GP02A Physalis following an intense battle between Kou and Zeon ace Anavel Gato.
