Designed mainly as an atmospheric re-entry unit, the FLAT-L06D Flat served various purposes. One purpose was escorting Moonrace citizens Loran Cehack, Fran Doll and Keith Laijie to Earth in CC 2343 to live there for two years as part of experiment on adapting to Earth living. When war began between Earth and the Moonrace in CC 2345, Keith sold his Flat to the Inglessa Militia so that he could raise money to expand his Donkey Bakery. That Flat (aka High Heel) was handed over to Joseph Yaht and became his personal mobile suit for the rest of the war. The main armament of the Flat consisted of three unique weapons: the collapsible box beam rifle, box missile launcher and hyper vibration, which allowed the Flat to burrow into the ground, deflect enemy fire and destroy nearby objects. Other Flats also appeared during the war, piloted by the Red Team’s Cancer Kafka and Muron Muron, who were descendants of Moonrace citizens who settled on Earth. Late in the war, Joseph’s Flat was temporarily retrofitted with the Core Fighter from Loran’s System-∀99 ∀ Gundam to serve as its cockpit.
