In UC 0077, the Principality of Zeon began development of the G87 Luna Tank for use on the Moon. The Luna Tank was equipped with rocket engines and traditional tank treads. It was armed with eight 2-barrel cannons spread over its main body. Zeonic Company’s initial plan was to produce 50 units, the first of which rolled out in July UC 0078. By the start of the One Year War in UC 0079, 22 units were completed and assigned to Granada’s defense force, with an additional 12 completed by June. During the war, a Luna Tank was modified for use on Earth and reclassified as the MAX-03 Adzam. Uprisings across the Moon in October led to the destruction of 28 units, and the remaining six were deemed nonfunctional. These units were dismantled shortly after the end of the war.
