In early C.E. 71, the Earth Alliance’s prototype GAT-X103 Buster Gundam was stolen by ZAFT at the Orb Union’s space colony Heliopolis. The Alliance later created a mass production version, the GAT/A-01E2 Buster Dagger. After the Bloody Valentine War, Actaeon Industries upgraded a Buster Gundam into the GAT-X103AP Verde Buster Gundam. The Verde Buster featured an expanded selection of armaments. The original’s beam cannon and gun launcher were now mounted over the shoulders. Shoulder-mounted missile launchers were retained, and a pair of combinable beam rifles were mounted on the hips. During the Second Bloody Valentine War, the Verde Buster served as the personal unit of Phantom Pain pilot Shams Couza. In C.E. 73, Phantom Pain was assigned to seize control of the Deep Space Survey & Development Organization’s AI-equipped mobile suit GSX-401FW Stargazer Gundam. Filled with rage, Shams depleted the Verde Buster’s energy, making him an easy kill for a group of UT-1D Civilian Astray DSSD Custom mobile suits.
