On October 2, C.E. 73, the Earth Alliance’s Phantom Pain unit conducted a raid on ZAFT’s Armory One PLANT and stole three new Gundam model mobile suits. After examining the specs of these suits, the Alliance created the GAT-X399/Q Wild Dagger, based on the RGX-03 Gaia Gundam. The Wild Dagger featured the same quadruped mode as the Gaia Gundam, although its armaments differed. As a counter-insurgency mobile suit, the Wild Dagger was armed with vulcan guns, beam sabers, a Gatling cannon, tail cannon and multipurpose turret (which could carry beam cannons, missile launchers, swords, etc.). In addition, the Wild Dagger could also use hand weapons designed for the GAT-02L2 Dagger L. Although the Wild Dagger was a prototype design, it was put into limited mass production and 72 units were built.
