Originally introduced in the UC 0080s, the Earth Federation Forces’ Alexandria class cruiser was an outdated design by UC 0153. However, the League Militaire resistance group pulled the Gaunland out of mothballs and refitted the ship to serve in their space fleet. The Gaunland‘s armaments were upgraded with additional main guns and defensive turrets, plus missile launchers and a higher mobile suit capacity. The Gaunland was also fitted with some newer technology, including a beam shield generator. Eventually, the League Militaire used the Gaunland as a decoy and set it to self-detonate to destroy Zanscare ships defending the Keilas Guilie satellite weapon.
