In 2308, Setsuna F. Seiei’s GN-001 Gundam Exia was heavily damaged while fighting Graham Aker’s SVMS-01X Union Flag Custom II. Cut off from the rest of Celestial Being, Setsuna conducted limited field repairs to the redesignated GN-001RE Gundam Exia Repair. The suit’s movement was restored, but Setsuna was unable to replace its missing left arm, so he covered the area with a large sheet. He was also unable to replace the damaged right eye and instead scavenged one from an MSJ-06II-A Tieren Ground Type. While the Gundam Exia Repair’s movements were restored, most of its weapons were lost, save for its damaged GN Sword. Setsuna reappeared with his Gundam in 2312 to fight the oppressive A-LAWS outside the space colony Proud. The Gundam Exia Repair was further damaged during the battle, but afterward Setsuna was reunited with Celestial Being. Engineer Ian Vashti then fully restored and upgraded the suit into the GN-001REII Gundam Exia Repair II.
